In 5 October 1948 disc jockeys Gene Norman and Frank Bull launched their successful ”Dixieland Jubilee”
at the Pan Pacific Auditorium.
The initial event featured such giants as
Louis Armstrong´s All Stars, Kid Ory´s Creole Jazz band, Wingy Manone´s band and a Condon group with Wild Bill Davison.
