Notes on Kid Ory´s sheetmusic - August 2011
I held Ory's arrangements in my hands 10 years ago. If they have gone missing it has been since then.
The stuff I saw featured lead sheets written down by Bud Scott. They included many of the tunes they recorded in the forties plus a few they apparently never performed or recorded. There was a violin lead sheet for Savoy Blues that looked like it may have been written down by someone else. Ory was playing with violinist Clarence Black at the time. Perhaps he wrote it down.
What John is saying is he scanned my dayd. Sheet music,with some by his hand the rest by Bud Scott ,I still have them.
