FLOYD LEVIN
PHOTOGRAPHIC COLLECTION AT THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION
Floyd Levin donated his archive to The Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. There are about 200 unpublished photos waiting. Do we have a Kid Ory fan in Washington who could pay them a visit. I have the adress and the proper names to contact. (www.christer@fellers.se).
Here, two samples.
Floyd was a great jazz historian and his personal interactions with many jazz greats. He was prescent everywhere in the jazz world and initiated the statue of Louis Armstrong in New Orleans.
